Cameron McDowall has been the Y&H referee rep for the last 5 years.
If you;ve been to an area event in the last few years there's a good chance Cameron was the Referee in Charge keep the referee teams under control!
Cameron has decided now is time to step down as the area referee rep while focusses on his development while working towards his referee A grade.
Anyone involved in refereeing understands the commitment required to achieve this goal, preparation, travel and attendance at national events, and we fully support Cameron in pursuing this ambition.
We wish Cameron all the best in his efforts working towards the National A referee badge and look forward to seeing more of him on the mats.
Seth Birch has decided now is the right time to step down from his Y&H area duties, at least to the same level.
As a 7th Dan Judo coach and international player, Seth’s dedication, skill, and passion have inspired generations of judoka — not only through his achievements on the mat, but through the countless hours he has devoted to coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
His contribution has left an enduring mark on British Judo and on everyone fortunate enough to train or work alongside him.
More referee success for the Yorkshire & Humberside area as Cian Maris passes hie B exam at the first attempt and Ben George gains his A badge. Both being assessed at the 2024 national pre-cadet & cadet event.
