Yorkshire & Humberside Judo

Seth Birch has decided now is the right time to step down from his Y&H area duties, at least to the same level.

As a 7th Dan Judo coach and international player, Seth’s dedication, skill, and passion have inspired generations of judoka — not only through his achievements on the mat, but through the countless hours he has devoted to coaching, mentoring, and developing others.

His contribution has left an enduring mark on British Judo and on everyone fortunate enough to train or work alongside him.

A few highlights of a long Judo career:
1975 – young Seth took part in the world championships
1980 - Olympic squad member
1990 - first BJA national coach

Seth has been a keystone of the Yorkshire & Humberside committee as technical director and providing valuable guidance to us youngsters!

On behalf of everyone in the Yorkshire & Humberside area and nationally, thank you for your years of dedication, integrity, and friendship.

We wish you the very best in your retirement — though we know your influence will continue to be felt for many years to come.
