1100 ish for seniors. Senior weigh in time will likely be a bit .... fluid.
Players can enter on the day for the Sunday grading (NOT the competition on Saturday).
Chance to pick up points for respective dan grades.
All 1st kyu and higher graded players welcome, men and women.
Please remember to bring with you:
- WHITE kit and blue/white belts
- Valid (in date) licence. Recreational licences are NOT acceptable for gradings.
- Proof of grade - your record book should be signed by your coach (1st kyus) or have been stamped by BJA (dan grades)
- Points cards if you have any
- Enthusiasm for winning points!

Judo Spirit Academy U8 festival
This is an U8 festival and the aim is to help participants make friends and gain more mat time in a fun and safe environment. On the day for the participants we will teach some techniques, have some games, have competition based games and some randori time.
All participants will receive a medal. These events can help participants to prepare for competition environments.
There are no weight categories for this event. All players will be set in to groups of 3, 4, 5 or 6 based on weight, age and grade. All participants taking part must have an up to date Judo Licence on the day.
Judo Spirit U12/U16 festival
There are no weight categories for this event. All players will be set in to groups of 3, 4 or 5 based on
weight, age and grade. All competitors taking part must have an up to date Judo Licence on the day.

Glaspalast International Tournament
The Yorkshire & Humberside Area of the British Judo Association (Y&H) has endeavoured to provide its players the opportunity to compete abroad. Y&H has organised trips to France (Rouen), Netherlands (Venray) and Germany (Sindelfingen) for many years and have been represented at the Glaspalast International Judo Tournament since 2014 (except for 2021 due to Covid).
The 2025 Glaspalast International Judo Tournament is to be held in Sindelfingen, Germany on 5-6
July 2025.
This year’s schedule is noted below:
Sat – FU13s, MU13s, FU18s, MU18s, SNR Women, SNR Men
Sun – FU11s, MU11s, FU15s, MU15s, MU21s, FU21s
Y & H contribution towards costs per person for 2025 is £75/person and costs are noted below:
Cost: £400pp - Y&H competitor and parent/guardian/coach
£475pp – Other competitors and parent/guardian/coach, and additional Y&H parent/
guardian/ sibling etc (depending on availability).
The costs for the trip include coach travel, cabin accommodation on the ferry, 3 night’s
accommodation and breakfast in the Mercure Hotel, Sindelfinfen (to be confirmed). All arranged by CAB – Travel, who have provided and continue to provide a superb service.

Technical Grading One –
The aim of this module is to deliver, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 1st to 9th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent in order that coaches can confidently prepare and grade players Novice to 6th Mon and Novice to 5th Kyu.
Technical Grading Two -
The aim of this module is to deliver, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 10th to 18th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent, in order that BJA Level 2 coaches can confidently prepare and grade players for all Mon and Kyu grades.
Please note that without this module all BJA Level 2 coaches qualifying after January 2013 will not be able to grade players.
