Yorkshire & Humberside Judo |

The ever popular North Yorkshire Festival on the 28th June was once again held at York.An event that year on year proves to be very popular with players of all ages from 8 years old.
In the region of 200 competitors took part in the event across 3 mats, doing their best to show off their judo skills.
We also saw presentions for young player of the year for 2025 & Mike Leng recognised for decades of voluntary service to area judo.
There were also referee assessments for a few of the volunteers in ties. Also happy to have a couple of people volunteer to work the scoreboards at an event for the first time.
Fantastic turnout for the first Y&H Area refereeing course in over 10 years!
A huge thank you to Dave Francis for coming along to support and assess the tutors as they progress to becoming fully qualified referee examiners. Dave Dunsford passed his assessment for delivering a referee course and is now able to move onto the assessing practical exams next on his road to becoming a referee assessor.
Well done to all candidates who attended and passed their theory exam. The next step is to contact your Area representative, get some practical experience, and complete your assessments.
With 19 attendees, this was an incredible opportunity to develop a strong group of new referees. The engagement and participation throughout the day were excellent, with everyone contributing in great spirit.

Another ladies randori session goes by, thourally enjoyed by the small but hard working group.
Keep an eye on the calendar for further sessions, they will be held around clubs in the area.
