What a day that was!
We were very late starting, partly through giving a presentation to Seth Birth who is stepping down from Y&H and examining duties but also because the booked medics didn't turn up. Thankfully there was a nurse amongst the spectator who was there with a club and very kindly volunteered to provide medical cover for the day. We all owe Katie a debt as without her generosity we may have had to cancel the event after players had travelled from around the country.
Whilte 2 mats were fully occupied running contests throughout the day, the third mat was being used for theory examinations which proved in demad with the new syllabus coming into force in the new year.
Over 90 entrants competing for those valuable ponts, our York gradings continue to grow from strength to strength. Next time we may have to use all 3 mats for contests!

Of course we'd be happy to here your feedback, both what you enjoyed and the areas you feel we could improve the event. Afterall, we host these events for the players.
The next one of these will be at the end of May 2026, with a competition the day before in the same hall.
