Yorkshire Sport Foundation is offering bursaries to provide more qualified sports coaches in South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire

People who are part of a club or community organisation that provides sport or physical activity can apply for grants of up to £150 towards a coaching qualification of their choice, which is designed to create a more skilled workforce across the two counties.  It is part of a wider Sport England funded, ‘Club Matters Local’ project that aims to create a more supported and connected club network through training, learning and targeted development work.

The bursaries can be put towards a qualification that is level 2 or below, and includes first aid, safeguarding, or any UK Coaching course. Priority will be given to coaches living or working in our focus communities, and those working with priority groups, such as ethnically diverse communities, disabled people, women and girls, and other underrepresented groups.

Applications will remain open until all the funding has been allocated, and no later than 5pm on Monday 27 March.  Applicants must be aged 16 or over and proof of a course booking will be required for the funding to be released. If payment needs to be made before booking, please indicate this in your application.

This funding is to support new training opportunities and cannot be used for courses that have already started, please do not book a course until your funding application has been approved.

To apply, complete this online form. We will respond to everyone who applies within two working weeks.
