Players hoping to be selected for one of the teams are expected to make an effort to attend these sessions.

Categories
A: Seniors novice - 5th kyu
B: Seniors 4th - 2nd kyu
C: Seniors 1st kyu+ (point scoring)
C: Veterans 30-44 years, novice - 2nd kyu
D: Veterans 30-44 years, 1st kyu+ (point scoring)
E: Veterans 45+ years, novice - 2nd kyu
F: Veterans 45+ years, 1st kyu+ (point scoring)
Age group defined using same rule as national veterans - turning 45 in 2026 then you can enter the 45+ group.

We'd recommend using the York park and ride to get into town or train.

Have you noticed it's the day after the senior & veterans competition? A full weekend of point scoring opportunitues
Registering (and paying) through the website attracts a £5 discount.
All 1st kyu and higher graded players welcome, men and women.
Please remember to bring with you:
- WHITE kit and blue/white belts
- Valid (in date) licence. Recreational licences are NOT acceptable for gradings.
- Proof of grade - your record book should be signed by your coach (1st kyus) or have been stamped by BJA (dan grades)
- Points cards if you have any
- Enthusiasm for winning points!
Dan grades - when registering, please enter your highest competitive grade.

If you are interested in being considered to be part of the 2026 Y&H national team entry, register your interest by registering for this dummy event.
By registering here you are not eetring the event, just expressing interest in being considered to be in a team.
This is a national level event. All players MUST have experience of competing at that level.
Date provided here imay not be correct, that is date on the BJA planning calendar and may yet change.
Judo Spirit Academy U8 Festival
This is an U8 festival and the aim is to help participants make friends and gain more mat time in a
fun and safe environment.
On the day for the participants we will teach some techniques, have some games, have competition based games and some randori time.
All participants will receive a
medal. These events can help participants to prepare for competition environments.
There are no weight categories for this event. All players will be set in to groups of 3, 4, 5 or 6 based
on weight, age and grade. All participants taking part must have an up to date Judo Licence on the
day.
