1st4Sport level 2 coaching course
Weekend 1: 8th – 9th June 2024
Weekend 2: 20th – 21st July 2024
Assessment Day: 18th August 2024
Candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a current member of the British Judo Association
- Hold a minimum British Judo Association 1st Kyu Grade
- It is recommended that candidates hold a BJA Level 1 coaching award
- Be able to communicate effectively in English (listening, speaking, reading and writing)

BJA level 1 coaching
Candidates should register through the BJA website
Candidates should:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be a current member of the British Judo Association
- Hold a minimum British Judo Association 2nd Kyu Grade
- Have a good knowledge of the British Judo Mon and Kyu Grade Syllabi
- Be able to communicate effectively in English (listening, speaking, reading and writing)
Excellence Session

Basic 1st aid & Safeguarding for children (coaching courses)

Coach education : technical grading 1 & 2
Technical Grading One - 10:00 – 13:00
The aim of this module is to deliver, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 1st to 9th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent in order that coaches can confidently prepare and grade players Novice to 6th Mon and Novice to 5th Kyu.
Technical Grading Two - 13:00 – 17:00
The aim of this module is to deliver, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 10th to 18th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent, in order that BJA Level 2 coaches can confidently prepare and grade players for all Mon and Kyu grades.
Please note that without this module all BJA Level 2 coaches qualifying after January 2013 will not be able to grade players.
